Reception

Hors d'oeuvres

Following your Colorado wedding ceremony at Blue Skies Inn, newlyweds and officiant will sign your marriage certificate as sparkling cider is poured in champagne flutes for your guests. You may make a toast to each other and others may join in with wishes for your future. You may bring champagne for a toast if you wish.

You will cut your pretty wedding cake together to share your first sweet meal. The groom holds the knife with the bride's hand on top of his to guide him.

After the couple has eaten a bite of their cake, our staff cuts and serves the cake to your guests. After family photos have been taken, the bride and groom will be photographed with Pikes Peak in the background, the prettiest mountain in Colorado.

A toast to a new life together!

Witnesses come in all sizes...

Other photos will be taken by the recently-renovated 1873 Briarhurst carriage house, the oldest standing structure in Manitou Springs, built by the founder of the city. The shade under towering cottonwoods by the gently arched bridge at streamside is also a beautiful site for wedding photography.

Our 1873 Carriage House is a one-of-a-kind background for your wedding photos.

Upon completion of those photos, the wedding party is usually ready to depart for a wedding dinner at a nearby restaurant. Start to finish, the wedding and reception take about an hour and a half.

Hors d'Oeuvres
A Pikes Peak Wedding at Blue Skies Inn, Manitou Springs, Colorado

Alternatively, at additional cost, we are able to offer an hors d'oeuvres reception for the bride and groom rather than a wedding meal.

This is available only after a Pikes Peak Wedding package held at 2:30 PM. If you choose our hors d'oeuvres reception, that will double your wedding time at Blue Skies Inn to three hours with limited dancing available..

Receptions that feature small finger foods are a new wedding trend. We will create fun and colorful hors d' oeuvres stations which encourage your guests to mix and meet each other rather than sit at one table. We can host this activity for your wedding in the gardens or indoors.

When you have chosen us as your wedding site, please contact us to design an hors d'oeuvres reception especially for you. Pricing is dependent on your hors d'ouevres choices and the number of guests.

Pricing starts at $28 per person, plus 15% service fee.
Ask Sally for an estimate.

A Cake Reception in the Chapel Room of our renovated 1873 Carrige House
A cake and sparkling cider reception, such as the one above, is included in your Pikes Peak Wedding package. Hors d'oeuvres may be added, and receptions can be held in our garden or in the Chapel Room of our renovated 1873 Carriage House, as shown above.
